Privacy Policy
1. Who we are
JobIQ is a product of FA3Tech, accessible at jobs.fa3tech.io. For privacy questions, contact us at privacy@fa3tech.io.
2. Data we collect
We collect only what we need to provide the service:
- Account data — name, email address, hashed password (we never store your plain-text password).
- Profile data — phone number, address, LinkedIn URL, current role, salary expectations, and CV — used to match you against jobs and power the autofill bookmarklet.
- Job preferences — keywords, target roles, and alert settings you configure.
- Application tracker — job titles, companies, and notes you enter manually or via auto-apply.
- Billing data — processed entirely by Stripe. We store only your Stripe customer ID and subscription ID; we never see or store your card number.
- Usage data — cover-letter generation counts, login timestamps, and scrape-run history, used to enforce plan limits and debug issues.
3. How we use your data
- To match jobs from our database against your profile and keywords.
- To send you job alert emails (daily or weekly, based on your plan).
- To generate AI cover letters and interview prep materials on your request.
- To process payments via Stripe and enforce plan limits.
- To improve the platform — e.g. understanding which keywords produce the best matches.
We do not sell your data to third parties, use it for advertising, or share it with recruiters without your explicit action.
4. AI processing
When you generate a cover letter or use other AI features, your job description and profile data are sent to Anthropic's Claude API solely to produce the requested output. Anthropic's privacy policy governs that processing.
5. Payments (Stripe)
All payment processing is handled by Stripe. JobIQ never receives or stores your credit card details. Stripe may process your billing data in the US and EU in accordance with its own privacy policy and Standard Contractual Clauses.
6. Cookies and sessions
We use a single, strictly-necessary session cookie to keep you logged in. This cookie is HTTP-only, Secure, and SameSite=Strict — it cannot be read by JavaScript or accessed cross-origin. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party trackers.
7. Email communications
After account verification, you will receive:
- A one-time welcome email.
- Job alert emails on the frequency determined by your plan (weekly for Free, daily for Starter, etc.).
Every job alert email contains a one-click Unsubscribe link. You can also opt out at any time from Settings → Email Reporting.
8. Data retention
- Active accounts: data is retained for as long as your account exists.
- Deleted accounts: all personal data (name, email, profile, applications, contacts) is permanently deleted within 30 days of account deletion. Anonymised aggregate statistics may be retained.
- Billing records: Stripe retains transaction records per applicable financial regulations; we retain only your Stripe customer ID.
9. Your rights (GDPR)
If you are in the UK or EU, you have the right to:
- Access — request a copy of all data we hold about you.
- Rectification — correct inaccurate data via Profile Settings.
- Erasure — delete your account and all data from Settings → Danger Zone.
- Restriction — ask us to stop processing your data while a dispute is resolved.
- Portability — request your data in a machine-readable format.
- Object — opt out of email marketing at any time via the unsubscribe link or Settings.

10. Security
All traffic is encrypted via HTTPS/TLS. Passwords are hashed using bcrypt. Session tokens are random, short-lived, and invalidated on logout. We regularly review our security practices.
11. Children
JobIQ is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16.
12. Changes to this policy
We will notify you by email of material changes. Continued use of the service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
